Kick-off Event: BeerCamp Philly

beercampThis year, we’re kicking-off BarCamp Philly with an event all about BEER.  BeerCamp Philly is a DIY Beer Event hosted by Philly’s own Two Guys on Beer – Dave Martorana and Johnny Bilotta.  The event will feature 10 local Homebrewers pouring their own homegrown brews in tasting portions.

Here is a sneak-peek at the DIY brews we’ve got lined-up:

  • Apricot Ale
  • Spicy Hefeweisen
  • Dark Pumpkin Wheat
  • Cherry Wood Smoked Maple Porter
  • Lagunitas IPA Clone Brew
  • Kona Hazelnut Imperial Brown Ale,
  • Mint Chocolate Milk Stout
  • Black Cherry Vanilla Porter

These DIY brews will be paired with sandwiches from Philly’s local sandwich authority Unbreaded, and beer from local breweries will supplement the homebrew tasting.

EVENT DETAILS:
Date: Friday, November 13th
Time: 6-9pm
Location: IndyHall – 20 North 3rd St, Philadelphia 19106

TICKETS: Admission to the event is $10 – tickets on sale next week! All food and drink during the event is free with admission.  Space is limited to 150 attendees, tickets will go FAST!  Be sure to follow @beercampphilly on Twitter to be the first to know when ticket sales open.

This is a community-driven event in the spirit of BarCamp – the Homebrewers are donating their beer to the event to make this DIY tasting event possible, and Indy Hall has graciously offered their space for the event.  All proceeds will benefit Philabundance.

Welcome to the new site!

BarCamp Philly 2009 is ON! Mark your calendars for Saturday November 14th at UArts!

We’re kicking off this year’s BarCamp with a special Friday night event: BeerCamp Philly! BeerCamp Philly will be hosted by our good friends Two Guys on Beer. If you’re into beer, and more specifically, into the local homebrews of Philadelphia, you’re in for a real party! Watch the official BeerCamp Philly website and follow @beercampphilly for updates.

On Saturday, we’ll start mapping out the day’s schedule bright and early. Doors open at 8am, sessions begin at 10am.  Have great ideas to share? Interesting projects you are working on? Expert skills you want to spread around? We can’t wait to find out what sessions will get on the board this year!  So tell us in the comments, what do you want to learn this year?

BarCamp Philly can’t happen without sponsorship from the local community, so please spread the word and help us keep the conference FREE for all of our attendees!

So much more information will be coming your way over the next few weeks. Watch this space and follow us on twitter at @barcampphilly!
